In the area of Mesa (Inner) Nimborios, remnants of an Early Christian basilica have been found. Three single-cell, barrel-vaulted small churches were later built on the ruins: the Assumption of the Virgin, the Sacred Head and the Transfiguration of the Saviour. Architectural members that probably belonged to the basilica have been incorporated in their masonry. Fragments of the mosaic floor of the basilica has been preserved; most notably the representation of the camel driver, a young man guiding a camel with a rope. The mosaic dates to the second half of the 6th century and is one of the most important examples of Early Christian art on the island.
